Mandata unveils new Leadership Team to drive business forward
Today, Mandata Group announces a significant milestone with the appointment of two senior executives, and the formation of a new Leadership Team, bringing experienced individuals from across the business together, to drive the company forward.
Mandata, the established market leader, provides transport management software solutions, supporting over 1500 leading road transport companies throughout the UK and Ireland. The new Leadership Team has unparalleled industry and business experience, is laser-focused on enhancing its core TMS offerings and delivering customer success.
Richard Stevenson joins as Mandata’s new Executive Chair, bringing a wealth of experience to his role and a track record of transformational change, having worked in the Software and Financial Services sectors for over twenty years.
Richard will lead the business, actively driving critical initiatives to deliver for Mandata’s customers.
Previously, Richard was CEO of Red Box, a UK-based conversational analytics provider. He led the company for 7 years prior to its acquisition by Uniphore, a global leader in B2B Artificial Intelligence (AI) in 2023. Between 1998 and 2015 he held senior leadership roles with Standard Life and was CEO of other technology-related businesses including Focus Solutions Group PLC and AST Europe.
Commenting on his appointment, Richard said: “Mandata is a great business, and I am very pleased to be working with such an experienced and knowledgeable team. I am looking forward to building on Mandata’s success to date and focusing fully on delivering great customer outcomes.”
Alison Young (Ali) has also been appointed Chief Operating Officer. Ali specialises in optimising operations, teams, and customer success, and will lead all Mandata operations going forwards.
She has significant experience in deploying and supporting business critical software solutions for a broad range of organisations, including many of the UK’s emergency services and major financial institutions. She will be pivotal to all customer-led initiatives being implemented at Mandata.
Ali was formerly Chief Operating Officer at Red Box. Both Richard and Ali led the acquisition of Red Box by Uniphore in 2023. Between 2008 and 2018 Ali held Executive level Operations roles for an AIM listed software business that was acquired by Standard Life and also ran her own successful business consultancy.

A new Leadership team, and new era at Mandata
Richard and Ali will drive Mandata’s strategic plans, together with a refocused Leadership team of existing Mandata team members from across all functional areas of the business.
