About the role:

The Business Development Manager plays a key role in increasing income and revenue. This role will take responsibility for the North of England territory and will be responsible for the end-to-end sales process management, offering a consultative solutions-based sales methodology.

As a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Own a territory and take responsibility for all new customer acquisition within it.
  • Qualify inbound and outbound prospects in line with our sales opportunity criteria.
  • Build a pipeline with the coverage required to hit your monthly target.
  • Managing all areas of the sales cycle from qualification, through to close.
  • Use CRM to track and report on sales activity metrics.
  • Accurately forecast new business deals against sales targets.
  • Work in partnership with the Lead Development team on developing business within your territory and creating a great first impression of Mandata.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to help inform marketing and product strategy.
  • Collaborate with technical departments to help design and deliver effective solutions to prospects.
  • Ownership of your development, including as a sales professional and understanding of our industry.

Person specification:

  • Exceptional track record of overachieving targets, both financially and KPIs – with the drive to ‘close’ a deal.
  • Ability to build rapport quickly and credibly with senior ‘target’ individuals.
  • Demonstratable track record of building, maintain and manage a strong pipeline.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills both internally and externally.
  • Self-motivated and able to work on own initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritise, and manage time effectively.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
