Microsoft Azure Incident Update

15 March 2024

This is an update that an incident with Microsoft Azure, that was not scheduled maintenance, was identified late on the evening of Tuesday 12th March.

Mandata customers hosted in Azure were affected by the issue and throughout the incident our team worked closely with our Microsoft partner to monitor for updates as Microsoft continued their investigations and remediations. Our team passed on to impacted customers all communications shared with us by Microsoft.

From late evening on 13th March, all services were confirmed as performant, and our team had confirmed directly with many customers that systems were working as expected.

Microsoft Azure is an important part of our infrastructure modernisation plan. Microsoft has confirmed it will provide us with a root cause analysis. We will share relevant details on their findings in due course.

We are happy to answer any questions that you may have, please contact your Customer Success Manager in the first instance if you’d like to discuss with us further.

Why we carry out monthly security and maintenance updates

We vigorously follow recommended patching procedures to keep your systems and data secure, and update our servers every month following Microsoft’s ‘Patch Tuesday’ release – a raft of security measures and fixes introduced to address new vulnerabilities.

We also patch any other devices and software at the same time to mitigate vulnerabilities.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding this work, please contact our Help Desk.
