Damac Transporters is part of the wider Damac Group, alongside Damac Bulk Handling and Sextant Shipping & Forwarding, delivering end‑to‑end logistics solutions across shipping, storage, and UK‑wide transport.
The group operates import terminals at Hull and Goole, with five silos primarily supporting the cement industry. “What we wanted was one system that we plan in, execute in, and report from – so if the data’s correct once, it’s correct all the way through,” explains Tim Wilkinson, General Manager, at Damac Transporters.
By consolidating planning, driver communication, and data capture into Mandata, Damac is reducing manual intervention, removing duplicate data entry, and minimising the risk of human error in a busy, high‑pressure transport environment.

“Mandata absolutely pulled out all the stops,” says Tim. “The migration was done incredibly quickly, with everything essential moved across, so we could maintain operations.”
Despite the typical complexity of a cloud migration, Tim was particularly impressed by the hands-on support from Mandata’s Tech Ops team. “They nailed it and got so much of the essential work done in a single day to keep us going. Then we got all our historic data across over the next few days. We were really impressed.”
Crucially, the cloud migration allowed Damac to continue working in the familiar legacy system while the new cloud environment was prepared in parallel. This ensured no disruption, meaning no sudden change for users and no interruption to their day‑to‑day operations, while quietly laying the groundwork for the next phase of system adoption.

“If the data has been put in right, it’s right all the way through,” Tim explains.
“Instead of copying, pasting, or typing things into WhatsApp messages, that information comes straight from and to the TMS.”

From delivery instructions and job details to wash certificates uploaded alongside PODs, Manifest App will help eliminate manual data entry and rekeying, reduce errors, and simplify workflows for both drivers and transport staff.

“If you swap two or three things around, you can actually see the difference in the mileages it makes,” says Tim. “A good, experienced planner might already know that, but the Mandata system supports people when it’s busy or when someone with more experience is away.”
