Using AI in your business? Here's what to think about first
Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools are full of promise, helping teams move faster, generate ideas, and solve problems. It certainly has a very exciting potential. But with great power comes great responsibility (and risk).
Before you use AI with your business data, here are a few things to consider:
1) Public AI tools aren’t private
Many save and reuse what you type. That could mean your business or customer data is stored or even used in future responses.
2) Hosting matters
Some tools are hosted outside the UK/EU, which can create GDPR and data protection concerns, especially when handling personal or sensitive data.
3) Not all tools are secure
Open-source or public AI tools can introduce security issues, inaccuracies, and even copyright risks. Ensure that suitable due diligence is carried out when selecting new technology partners or AI tools.
4) Bias and misinformation exist
AI is only as good as the data it’s trained on — and that data often includes internet bias and stereotypes.
At Mandata, we’re taking a responsible, secure approach to AI.
- We’ve been evaluating AI through the lens of security, privacy, and transparency
- Your data is never shared with public AI tools
