J.B. Transport, a nationwide haulage, storage, and distribution company operating a 24-vehicle fleet, upgraded to Mandata’s Cloud TMS after outgrowing their legacy system.
The switch came at a crucial time, driven by a need for better visibility, streamlined planning, and enhanced customer service, delivering greater efficiency to support their continued growth.
The Journey with Mandata
J.B. Transport have now been using Mandata’s Transport Management Software (TMS) for over a year. Before the switch, they operated and managed their haulage operations on Stirling Solutions, which was later acquired by Mandata.
After seeing the powerful potential and features within the Mandata TMS, the team at J.B. Transport decided to continue their investment with Mandata, and to move their transport management across to Mandata’s cloud TMS, GoPlus. It was a smooth transition supported by Mandata’s Implementation team:
“We found the implementation process very straightforward,” says Jake Brown, Transport Manager, when discussing the onboarding process of moving to the Mandata TMS from Stirling. “We were up and running quickly and hassle-free.”
Operational benefits across the business
Since adopting Mandata GoPlus alongside Mandata’s Enterprise Warehouse Management Software (formerly Stirling WMS) and RF Scanning, J.B. Transport has seen tangible improvements in how they manage their transport operations.
The TMS software has enhanced transport planning through features like the Job Planner map, which allows the team to view all deliveries in one place and optimise the route order accordingly.
Jake Brown shared, “We’ve been using Mandata for just over a year now, and we’ve seen huge improvements in our planning. It has also made invoicing our jobs so much easier.”
Jake explains that with their previous system, they didn’t fully take advantage of the software’s features. However, with Mandata, and by collaborating with their dedicated Mandata Customer Success Manager, Sam Helme, they’re now using the system to the full, which supports the full business process from order to proof of delivery, and they’re seeing significantly greater benefits as a result.
“We now have much better visibility and control over our deliveries,” explains Jake.
Customer service and efficiency gains
The improved planning capabilities mean that the team can now provide customers with more accurate delivery time updates, providing customers with a more streamlined and efficient customer experience.
“Compared to before, we now have greater visibility over the order that our deliveries are being made in, which then means our customers have a much better idea of when they’ll be expecting their deliveries,” said Jake.
Additionally, once deliveries are entered on the planned date, vehicle allocation becomes far more efficient, helping the team make the most of their fleet and reducing administrative overhead.
Warehouse Management Integration
J.B. Transport has continued using the same WMS solution they were accustomed to, which has now been integrated into their Mandata TMS software, giving them seamless integration across their operations, whilst facilitating consistency and an easy way to plan their operations.
“Overall, we find it a very good system,” Jake noted. “Now we have a stronger TMS offering, we are finding our WMS much more useful for managing our stock levels, and tracking goods within our warehouse.”
In addition to their WMS, J.B. Transport also use RF scanning to digitally track and monitor stock while in storage. This provides greater visibility of stock movements and inventory levels, helping them better understand whether they can fulfil new customer orders.
“Now we have a stronger TMS offering, we are finding our WMS much more useful for managing our stock levels, and tracking goods within our warehouse.”

“Yes, definitely,” Jake confirms when asked if he would recommend Mandata to other businesses.
