Kenleys Warehousing

Kenleys Warehousing, Mandata TMS, Warehouse and Distribution

It was back in 2004 when Kenley's turned to Mandata for its first computerised system to replace a manual delivery diary and support a growing fleet and a burgeoning order book.

Apart from the benefits of improvements in fleet management the new system could bring, the company needed to be able to share operational data in real-time with customers. The directors realised this would make a big difference to the company’s ability to grow and add value in an extremely competitive, cost driven sector.

A range of Mandata products have been introduced over the course of the past decade; each one integrated with the TMS to fill a gap in functionality and fulfil a specific customer and business need.

This has included asset tracking, Web Services Customer Portal (on-line booking), eInvoicing, Mandata Fleet Behaviour and PDA manifests and ePOD. All designed to provide a fully functioning, joined-up delivery system and processes with a seamless workflow; bringing substantial benefits to both Kenley’s and its customers.

Staying ahead with integrated systems

Kenley's has also seen the value from an ongoing programme of system updates following its initial investment in its Mandata systems.

New features and additions to the first installation of Mandata's TMS Manpack3, closely followed by the integration of Sage accounting and the company's warehousing system, have enabled the company to stay ahead.

The Mandata TMS has enabled us to improve customer service, bridging the gap between warehouse and traffic. Orders are received automatically via EDI and the system outputs the orders to RF scanners. This has the advantage of enabling us to fulfil orders more quickly and give customers access on-line so they can track orders whenever and wherever they are located, at the press of a button.

Fast-forward 10 years and Kenley’s decision to invest in Mandata’s TMS is continuing to pay dividends. The technology has played a seminal part in driving the company’s growth and expansion; and today it’s the central cog in the 24/7 European distribution operation.

Kenley’s commitment to improving levels of customer service doesn’t end there. It’s continuing to invest in the latest technology with the addition of Mandata’s Proof of Delivery (POD) In-Cab scanning to speed up the return of POD’s from trampers.
