EDI & Report Developer
Your role in a nutshell…
As EDI and Report Developer / Specialist, you will have broad experience including the design and development of EDI interfaces and customer reports as well as a willingness to work with both internal business leaders and external customers. A true focus on the customer and delivering what they are looking for is key in this role ensuring a seamless link between third-party systems and the Mandata Group TMS systems.
The responsibilities we will trust you with…
- Taking ownership of Development solutions allocated to you, from inception right through
to delivery, maintenance and decommissioning. - Collaborate with clients to understand and develop solutions that align with client needs
Developing high-quality code for all solutions. - Ensuring that the Development policies are followed at all times when putting together
solutions and also ensuring compliance with all other company policies. - Familiarization with existing code and platforms and then take ownership of them, applying
the same standards to the effectiveness of these solutions as the ones you have personally
developed. - Supporting the operation as required, performing bug fixes, enhancements etc. and
providing timely and good-quality maintenance. - Being responsible for all phases of the EDI software Development lifecycle.
- Responsible for the creation and amendment of customer reports.
- Provide 3rd line support where required. When an issue cannot be resolved by both 1st Line(Service Desk) and 2nd Line (Applications Support).
- Managing your time and prioritising work to ensure that deadlines are met and all projects you are involved in are supported to the required standards.
- Under special circumstances, you may be required to perform support cover at the evenings and/or weekends in response to the needs of the systems being developed.
Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:
- Excellent communication skills essential as is the ability to communicate clearly with both business and technical stakeholders.
- Structured way of working and methodical, collaborative approach.
- Appreciation of project management procedures.
Desired experience, but not essential:
- Message standards – EDIFACT / XML / IDOC / X12.
- Communication protocols – AS2 / HTTP / FTP / FTPs / VAN (GXS) / Web services.
- MS SQL.

- Has a proven ability to deliver, maintain and decommission Development solutions.
- Takes a structured approach that enables you to work on several solutions at any one timeand prioritize work as appropriate.
- Has the attention to detail needed to ensure that all solutions are effective and alsocompliant with policy.
- Has a ‘Can Do’ attitude with a track record of overcoming problems and finding solutions
to issues as they crop up.
